I must say it has been my favourite Daddies’ Girls’ gig so far. maybe it was because there were so many familiar faces in the audience. Maybe because the mayor (with his chain and everything!) came to speak to us. Possibly it was because the festival stood for the cause that is close to my heart: that of preserving our local libraries and opposing ConDem’s budget cuts.
Could also be that it was the first time we read our stories in full, so we could experience each other’s emotional journeys.
It could also be the sense of camaraderie and support from everyone, not forgettin, of course, Ken, Julie’s amazing husband, who is our technical man and having put together a high-quality Power Point presentation ensured that the images, music and colours all came together beautifully for the performance.
