Event – 17 July, Daddies’ Girls at Halifax Festival

On a nasty winter day in the middle of July, by heroic efforts of my sisters in Daddies’ Girls and their children and husbands, a group of unsuspected Calderdale citizens were brought to a room next to the Halifax Tourist Information to listen to our stories.

I read my short story Waking Up about my relationship with my Father, along with my creative friends from the Daddies’ Girls project.

The reading was a part of Halifax Festival 2011
Date: Sunday 17th July
Time: 2 pm
VenuePiece Hall, Bay 9 (the unit directly connected to the Art Gallery and Visitor Centre)
It formed part of the larger Calderdale Cultures Day.
“Halifax Festival is about bringing someone and something different to a new audience, and that it did. After all, there are very few places you can hear a jazz singer sing Lady Gaga’s Poker Face while strumming a ukulele.” – Ruth Mosalski, Halifax Courier
